Balmoral Group and its subsidiary, Game Rush, in recognition of Taiwo Agbaje’s remarkable victory, orchestrated an elaborate homecoming to celebrate the boxing sensation known as Esepo. On the 23rd of January 2025, the streets of Mushin came alive in a way that had not been seen in years. Esepo had returned home, not just as a local hero but as a champion, fresh from his victory at the Chaos in the Ring event, where he secured the IBO All Africa Championship Belt at the Balmoral Convention Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, on the 26th of December 2024.

The day began with Balmoral Group welcoming Esepo to their headquarters, where he was donned in a regal green agbada danshiki, paired with an aso oke fila (agbeti fila), a proud nod to his heritage. As the convoy set off towards Mushin, chants of “Esepo! Esepo!” echoed through the streets, with crowds gathered to welcome their champion home. One of his first stops was the mosque where he worships, where local Alfas welcomed him warmly, offering prayers for his continued success. From there, he met the Mushin Market Leaders, where the Iyaloja and Babaloja praised his achievements.

At the Mushin Local Government Office, Executive Chairman Honourable Emmanuel Bamigboye commended Esepo’s dedication, praising his hard work and strength while assuring him of the government’s continued support. Some of Esepo’s titles include the Governor’s Belt (2010), the West African Boxing Union Belt (2018), and the Intercontinental Champion’s Belt of the World Boxing Federation (2022). His latest IBO All-Africa Champion Belt cements his place in boxing history, further solidifying his legacy as a force to be reckoned with.

The homecoming concluded at Tipo Gym in Egbeda, where Esepo first honed his boxing skills. There, he met aspiring fighters, offering encouragement and emphasizing that success comes with persistence and dedication. To commemorate the occasion, he gifted a pair of gloves to a coach, reaffirming his commitment to mentorship and the sport’s future. In a heartfelt tribute, a local artist presented a striking portrait of Esepo, expressing how deeply his journey had inspired him, making the moment even more poignant.

By evening, the event had concluded, leaving an unforgettable mark on those who had gathered to celebrate. From the streets of Mushin to Egbeda’s training grounds, Esepo’s return was more than just a victory lap — it demonstrated faith, resilience, and the importance of community. Through Balmoral Group and Game Rush’s support, the homecoming became more than a celebration; it was an inspiration, proving that greatness can emerge from anywhere, and it showcased Balmoral’s support for developing grassroots sports.
